Integrity Toys is collaborating with the extraordinarily talented Sinuhe Guzman for the second time, giving us again a couple of gorgeous dolls, though this time separately and not as a giftset. One of the dolls is a giftset in itself, while the other is a dressed doll. The collection is called The Spectre and includes Natalia Fatalé and Kyori Sato, the inimitable duo of Missima Cosmetics.
Sinuhe Guzman was born in Mexico City into an artistic family that included an opera-singing mother, so love for art was always in the air. Collecting and dressing dolls started very early in his childhood as a natural way of expression. He graduated in fashion design and merchandising, and then completed his education in Paris, studying haute couture techniques which he applied for years while dressing an exciting local clientele. However, the childhood doll bug soon bit again with even greater force, leading him to pivot his career exclusively to doll fashion design. Along the way, he won a couple of design contests at Integrity Toys conventions. Now devoted to his international doll clientele through social media, he showcases new designs on his online store. He daydreams about dolls around the world wearing his designs and plots what they should wear next...

The Story:
The whispers were all the good kind. Natalia Fatalé, clad in a stunning couture combination of soft ruffles and shiny "armor" smiled as she made her way to the step-and-repeat for photos. “Finally, the recognition I deserve!” she thought herself as she looked directly into the cameras. “It’s Sinuhe Guzman,” she said, as the media asked her who she was wearing. It had taken her a few years, but she had arrived… again. Natalia, who was a top-tier schemer, had managed her own coup: getting back into an ownership share of Missima and a joint venture with the Perrins, whose sterling reputation and royal connections Natalia had always coveted. Of course, it took some work by Francisco, which really meant it took some work behind the scenes from the brains always behind Francisco, Pierre DeVries. Pierre DeVries had put his photography to the side in recent years and was spending more time growing his family’s fortune in wine and other ventures. While Francisco *thought* he had sealed a deal with Vanessa, behind the scenes, Pierre had been working with his old flame, Véronique. By the time Vanessa had proposed the idea to Véronique about the Missima joint venture, the wheels were already in motion. Véronique was very good at playing dumb when needed. The grand plan was a restructuring of a joint venture. With the DeVries backing, Missima would now be owned in part by Pierre and his family, part by W Cosmetics and the Perrins, and part by Natalia Fatalé and Kyori Sato. The overarching push from Pierre came from his own brainstorm to include his family’s wine as an essence in the production of various cosmetics as a way to extend the family’s fortune into the hot cosmetics industry. Véronique agreed to his idea only if it was under the Missima corporate structure, but Natalia and Kyori coming with the package gave her some pause. Nevertheless, with AvW breathing down their necks and with deep pockets behind them, she made a business decision. After a successful collaboration in Rome, next up for Missima was the launch of a signature perfume, Specter, which included the essences of the DeVries red wines and was a gorgeous, dark cabernet color. As their own launch in Mexico had gone so well, Véronique thought a revisit would be the ideal launch platform for this new perfume. The W team contacted their couture designer from the launch, Sinuhe Guzman, and begged him to dress Natalia and Kyori. Everyone gathered in Mexico for the event, among the elite and who’s who. Francisco, Pierre, Véronique, Vanessa, Natalia, Kyori all were on hand to make Specter a success and share in the spoils. But, Kyori had other plans…

As I have written before, I love Sinuhe’s work - he is a very talented designer and creator, with a definitive style and vision. I have bought some of his doll outfits in the past and own the previous two-doll gift set that he released with Integrity Toys, The Surrealist Gala Veronique and Vanessa. And yes, I love this doll too. What’s not to love? The stunning face? The incredible outfit with the armor and lace combination? The amazing accessories and jewellery? The cargo pants that transform into narrow pants? The silver sequined bra and panties? It looks very Alexander McQueen, which I love. Natalia is also a favourite face sculpt of mine so I am happy to see another one appearing this year. Fingers crossed!

The Story:
Kyori Sato was beautiful, chic and very untrustworthy. She changed alliances like most people change their socks. She was persona non grata with the Perrins after she abandoned W Cosmetics to team with Natalia. And then her and Natalia had a falling out-- but reconciled again. She found herself back in the thick of things because nobody can keep Kyori down when she had a plan. As she put on her couture outfit from Sinuhe Guzman, she looked in the mirror with a sly smile. She wasn’t even listening to Natalia behind her, talking about what the new chapter of Missima would look like with the Perrin and DeVries families as partners. “Natalia is a good schemer, but she is such a small thinker,” Kyori thought to herself, admiring her figure in the mirror. Kyori didn’t want partners. She wanted total domination.

Kyori 2.0 makes a comeback and she looks fierce! She matches with Natalia in style and colours, with an outfit that looks incredible and is very versatile, giving us different looks by adding or removing pieces. The scull bag would make Alexander McQueen covet it soooo much. The shoes are the same design as those in the Surrealist Gala dolls, but in silver. Love, love, love. And in the presentation, we got to see the doll boxes too, and they use the same sliding door design that Sinuhe had for his previous collaboration, but now in silver instead of gold. Its incredible to see two magnificent dolls again designed by Sinuhe, incorporating modern design and elements of Mexican culture. Kudos!
See Kyori in the video below - let’s hope I can win both at the lottery.
