What a lovely surprise! I started collecting FR just in time to miss the big Refresh and Renew Trunk released back in 2006, which retailed at $224.99 and always wanted one! This is smaller in size, but, as you can see below, one can connect multiple trunks to make a larger one, and also get extra modular units to customize the look and function of the interior of the trunk. My only worry is that the material used for the finish is pleather (per the liaisons reply to a member email, the trunk is made of high impact/strong card stock and variety of synthetic materials. Covered with vinyl/pleather and finished inside with a custom embossed velvet material. \they also note that the original trunk was constructed in the same manner, cardstock covered with vinyl), which we all know is very volatile with time - but the old trunk was made of the same materials and I have never seen anyone complaining of damage to that one. I will order this one and some of the extra units, although I know the shipping cost will kill me. Having used lots of larger doll trunks for ages as storage units for their outfits and accessories (the Franklin Mint ones), I know it is very convenient for me and my collection to have trunks like this around. Maybe in time I can get a second one too. I only wish that it had the drawers instead of the cupboard in the base trunk, they are so much more useful. On a side note, the liaisons also confirmed that you can open it to form a straight line from one side to the other.

This is good for storing more clothes on hangers. What I have not seen though is an extra element with space to hang long dresses and gowns or pants - the height of this unit does not look adequate for storing items like these. Also, another extra that would have been awesome to see: a vanity desk, stool and mirror. Maybe with functioning lights. Next time Alain? Please?
