A Shimmering Experience Della Roux doll

The Story:

As soon as Della Roux learned that she and the other beauties of the East 59th Agency had been chosen as the muses of the very first Metamorphosis Ball, she could hardly contain herself. She rushed to place an overseas long-distance call to Paris. “Victoire! Get on the next flight to New York, we’ve been selected to model at the event of the year!” The news spread quickly. Before long, electricity crackled through the styling room as the chosen models buzzed with excitement, speculating eagerly about who would be wearing whom. In the weeks leading up to this daring new venture, one that promised to become one of the most artistic and transformative visions of fashion ever realized in a single evening, the most beautiful ladies of the time were put through exhaustive fittings, creative explorations, and intensive styling sessions. It showed. The elevated look worn by the stunning Della Roux alone graced numerous magazine covers in the months that followed, while celebrities were soon spotted wearing one adaptation or another at movie premieres and red-carpet events. The concept of “adaptable” or “modulable” fashion introduced at the Ball became an immediate sensation, embraced for both its ingenuity and versatility. The result was nothing short of spectacular, and to this day, several of the looks unveiled that night remain major references in both the fashion and art worlds. -Designed by Chris Stoeckel

A Shimmering Experience Della Roux doll

Instead of the usual extras included with East 59th dolls (drinks, luggage, make up, cigarettes etc.), each doll in this collection includes a different ornate doll-sized standing vintage-look "mirror" accessory that really reflects. The mirror part is reflective acetate as said during the presentation, while the frame seems to be just print and cut cardboard. The whole thing has the style of support that picture frames have. And they are true to scale. Della looks lovely here, except that pinkish lipstick that throws me off her entire look. I love her elegant hairstyle. Her gown, with its various transformations, looks like it could be part of the court at Versailles, with its ornate embroidery and texture. Love her jewellery too. I’m on the fence about ordering her. Luckily we have a lot of time to think about this.

The Story:

True to herself, the moment she appeared at the height of the boarding steps of the majestic 707 that had carried top model Victoire Roux back to the Big Apple, the press went wild. Who was she wearing today? Why had she returned from Paris? Which magazine cover would feature her next? And (of course), was it true that she was in love? The questions bored Victoire to death, but she knew she had to play the fame game, even as she longed to escape to the studio and learn more about the intriguing new Metamorphosis Ball she had been chosen to star in as a muse. Still, as she pushed her way through the most persistent reporters, something caught her eye. There, waiting on the tarmac, stood her friend Laird Drake beside one of the most beautiful town cars she had ever seen. She took it as a sign. She would be swept directly into the next chapter of this adventure, and the thought made her smile. Couture, after all, was her mistress, and there was no point in keeping the fashion world waiting. It was high time for her to discover the work of fashion art that would make her sparkle, if only for a moment destined to live in our collective memory for decades to come. -Designed by Chris Stoeckel

Another beautiful Victoire as a redhead. Chris said during the presentation that Victoire is a redhead in his mind, and I could not agree more. Her make up is more subdued here but elegant. Her gown is more geometric and asymmetrical. The embroidery, as Chris said, helps keep the shape of the skirt. While beautiful, I think this is the doll I like the least from this collection. She also reminds me a lot of the early Victoire dolls (with the first sculpt).

A Sudden Rush Of Romance Lady Aurelia Grey doll
A Sudden Rush Of Romance Lady Aurelia Grey doll

The Story:

When the ultra-sophisticated socialite Lady Aurelia Grey received the invitation to be the Guest of Honor at the Metamorphosis Ball, hand-delivered by none other than Laird Drake himself, she was delighted. She was deeply moved to learn that her tireless philanthropic work with sick children across the country was being celebrated by her peers. Almost immediately, one question rose above all others: what would she wear? The concept of the Ball was unlike anything before it, how could she possibly do the theme justice? With innovation, elegance, and just a whisper of romance; qualities she had mastered to perfection. The look she ultimately chose was rich and luxurious, and her appearance on the red carpet caused an instant commotion. Fashion editors took note at once, captivated by the sumptuous tones of the brocade and "fur" ensemble she had selected. Demands echoed through the crowd to know who the genius behind the look was; only for all to be dazzled when it was revealed that she was wearing one of her own creations. The evening truly entered fashion history when Lady Aurelia disappeared for a brief moment, only to re-emerge in a completely transformed look. It was then that everyone understood they were in the presence of a true fashion connoisseur. -Designed by Chris Stoeckel

A Sudden Rush Of Romance Lady Aurelia Grey doll

Aurora, like Della, has a gown that could very well appear at a ball in Versailles. The doll looks great, albeit a bit austere. I would prefer her in darker hair. The embroidered fabric is sumptuous and the voluminous skirt has a draping that will have to be seen in production dolls to help one make up their mind. She has the least impressive jewellery of the bunch - they could have included a bracelet and/or a brooch for the fur shrug.

The Art Of Versatility Evelyn Weaverton doll
The Art Of Versatility Evelyn Weaverton doll

The Story:

Poised, demure, elegant; these were the words most often used by industry insiders and devoted admirers alike to describe the elusive beauty of Evelyn Weaverton. Very little was known about the model herself, yet every appearance made an impact, every magazine cover further cementing her iconic, timeless image. The organizers of the Metamorphosis Ball had only one thing in mind when they requested, no, insisted, that she be present: Evelyn Weaverton would be the central focus of the publicity campaign for the most anticipated affair of the season. Their instinct proved flawless. Each glamorous version of the event’s advertisements, which seemed to blanket every square inch of the city and showcased the many ways her look could be worn, became a visual tour de force. By the following season, fashion houses across the nation were offering their own interpretations of the designs, clearly inspired by her imagery. The tone had been set, and the message was unmistakable: the East 59th Agency was unmatched at what it did. -Designed by Chris Stoeckel

The Art Of Versatility Evelyn Weaverton doll

I think Evelyn is the MVP of the bunch. Both the doll and the outfit are fantastic and look amazing in every variation. The colours, make up, hairstyle, embroidery, fabrics and cut, all combine to give a masterclass in fashion design and styling. The only thing I might have changed would be her hard metal choker - into a more period fitting pearl rows and diamond clasp one (see the evening section), and match the rest of the jewellery accordingly. The whole outfit brings to mind a similarly coloured one (asymmetrical too) worn by Gene Marshall doll. Sublime.

She Who Awakens Nyasha doll
She Who Awakens Nyasha doll

The Story:

The vast reaches of the Milky Way are tapestried with billions of brightly scintillating stellar phenomena, each competing to dazzle us with the intensity of their light. These fascinating stars shine through the cosmos like beacons of hope, perhaps bringing life to faraway, undiscovered planetary bodies, just as our very own sun nourishes Mother Earth in the ever-loving warmth of its glow.

She Who Awakens is an artistic vision meant to represent the pure beauty and vibrant source of energy that brings sustenance to all living things. But don’t be fooled, this glowing beauty is a force to reckon with, as her light stands firm against the dark energy of She Who Takes, the darkness always waiting to take it all away in a yin and yang–like, never-ending circle of creation.

She Who Awakens Nyasha doll

Included:

  • 12.5-inch articulated doll with brand new screening, long rooted hair and hand-applied eyelashes;

  • Radiant look comprised of a golden molded armor top (metal) that attaches with magnet closures and a long golden satin skirt with layered ruffles at the knees and contrasting blue lining;

  • Removable knee belt with custom sculpted solar themed metal embellishments;

  • Golden solar headpiece with two long micro-chain strands;

  • Golden solar earrings connected by two shorter micro-chain strands;

  • Alternate pair of painted gloved hands with contrasting manicure and opera-length satin gauntlets;

  • Souvenir fashion sketch panel featuring original art;

  • Custom designed collector packaging;

  • Doll stand;

  • Certificate of authenticity.

She Who Awakens Nyasha doll

What a fantastic doll! I have been following Danilo and his awesome creativity through his Instagram profile for quite some time now, and this collaboration with Integrity Toys is very much deserved. He has a unique vision and his creations are beautiful and impressive, and so is this doll. Nyasha is looking gorgeous here, with her golden armour and gown. The accessories and make up help define and embellish the final look, making this a very strong presence. Extra points for the amazing headdress. The blue detailing on the gold makes the look adjacent to ancient civilizations like Egypt and Mesopotamia. I’m entering the lottery for her.

She Who Takes Luchia doll
She Who Takes Luchia doll

The Story:

Sustaining the universe through their endless dance, light and darkness give rise to destruction, clearing the path for rebirth. In a creative vision rarely seen in doll form, She Who Takes embodies the dark energy that envelops all that is luminous within the cosmos, an anchoring force that holds creation in balance, allowing the miracle of life to unfold.

Clad in a fantastical gown inspired of the infinite vastness of space, and adorned with unique, custom-designed jewellery meant to echo the swirling vortex at the threshold of the darkest black holes, She Who Takes stands ready beside She Who Awakens, proud and unyielding, together maintaining the fragile equilibrium of existence.

  • Sheer black arm gauntlets;

  • Dramatic stellar phenomenon inspired crystal-covered headpiece with separate scarf/veil that can be worn in multiple ways;

She Who Takes Luchia doll

The second doll is the opposite, in terms of colouring and concept, to the first one, but still breathtakingly beautiful. It does not hurt that she looks a lot like two previous Luchia iterations with the Isha sculpt, Go North (IFDC 2011) and Shimmering Copper (ITBE 2013), both very sought after dolls. The outfit is spectacular, with the sculpted armour bodice (which reminds me a lot of the ones Issey Miyake made in the 80s) combined with a cloud of organza for the skirt. The ornaments and accessories are very original and fit the theme perfectly. I also like the fact that instead of doing a matching copy of the dress from the first doll in black, Danilo really went into it and created a great opposite force of a doll. The veil can be used in very creative ways when styling the doll. I entered for this one too.

A new character with a familiar face by Jason Wu for Integrity Toys: Constellation Anais Perrin

Some time ago, there was an unexpected email from W Club, explaining that some members who had ordered dolls from the Cirque Cabaret event, had mistakenly been sent another doll, one that was not yet released. It was a new character and we would soon discover more about her. A profile photo of the doll’s head, with its protective hair net still one, made the rounds. Most people surmised that it looked like the expected 1/6th scale version of the open-mouthed Avantguard sculpt. And now, we got the confirmation. Additionally, the first appearance is designed by Jason Wu’s and she is a new character in the Fashion Royalty canon. The doll comes dressed in a miniature Jason Wu look inspired by one of his life sized creations that appeared in his Fall/Winter 2023 collection, featuring a long evening coat and a flowing gown adorned with artwork by Jessica May Underwood, a designer and artist renowned for her delicate pencil and watercolour work. While this new character will be part of the Fashion Royalty collection, to better match the cut of the gown, the designer chose to debut the doll on the NU. Face body. The doll is available through lottery exclusively for W Club members.

The Story:

When her sister Aymeline first entered the modeling industry, Anais thought it was cliché. The society set was filled with people with famous last names-- and those like Aymeline who dropped hers professionally, but still had the connections to go into fashion, modeling or influencing. Anais wanted nothing to do with that. She was always a bit more rock-and-roll—a free spirit who loved counter-culture and being contrarian. After attending an elite boarding school in Switzerland, she charted her own path. She photographed alternative bands, mixed high-end couture pieces with fast-fashion and hung out at cool underground clubs throughout Europe. While she didn’t mean to be an influencer, her following grew organically—she was authentic and she was cool. But a trust fund doesn’t stretch as far these days as it used to, and Anais knew she had to do something else. Given who she was and the heft of her family, she consistently received offers from major fashion houses, luxury brands and more to get involved. Finally, she gave in. When Anais told her sister that she was following in her runway footsteps, Aymeline was shocked. Then Anais dropped the bomb. “Just so you know, I will be using our last name…you can add it if you want.” Aymeline was frustrated. She wanted to try to make her own way—as much as one could when everyone knew who your family was. But her sister Anais figured she would lean into it. Their cousins were very successful in fashion and cosmetics, and that meant the Perrin name could fetch an extra premium…

I don’t think we needed more Perrin family members to be added to the story - why not Elyse cousins? Or a totally different family with a more interesting backstory than wealthy Monegasque blue-bloods become models? Is this the best IT can do with the story-lines?

Constellation_Anais_Perrin_doll_accessories

The doll is gorgeous: as with her sister, the 1/6th scaling of the Avantguard sculpt (this one being the open mouth one), works really well and gives us a gorgeous face. Hairstyle and make up work well with it, giving her a dreamlike quality and elegance that contradicts her supposedly “rock” attitude. Doesn’t she look a bit like Gigi Hadid? Also, some members got curious about her make up, noticing similarities with the Jason Wu Poppy dolls and wondered if we had another sticker screening doll coming. The liaisons only said in reply that the screening used for the Wu Poppy dolls is exclusive to them and them alone. But that is not what people are wondering about - it is the application method worrying them. IT and the liaisons declined to answer citing industrial espionage reasons (LOL, honestly - if a competitor wants to know how you produce the dolls, they buy one and dissect it. Simple as that). I must say this does not spell Integrity at all.

Model wearing Jason Wu Fall Winter 2023 outfit consisting of a black coat over a white silk dress featuring a sketch design

The outfit, as noted above, is from Jason Wu’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection (you can see it above) and it looks great in miniature. It is a minimal luxury look that gives The Row vibes but with an Asian twist, which is really good. The doll comes with a pair of earrings (luckily not simple studs as Jason usually gives his collection dolls), high heeled sandals, a purse (another extra addition for a Wu doll) and underwear - the bra peeps through the top of the dress as in the original. You can see the doll in the video below:

Fashion Empress Tatyana Alexandrova is the doll wearing the winner of the 2024 Integrity Toys Design Competition

We finally get offered last year’s winner of the 2024 International Design Competition doll, showcasing the fashion based on Irina Koroleva's winning entry, "Fashion Empress". According to the rules of the competition, Irina's winning fashion design, voted on by 2024 W Club members, went through various adjustments to make it production ready while preserving the spirit of Irina's original creation, in collaboration with Integrity Toys Designer-in-residence Anj Calvo, who also spearheaded the doll design (the competition is only about the outfit and not the doll). So who is Irina Koroleva?

Fashion_Empress_Tatyana_Alexandrova

"My name is Irina, and I live in Belgrade, Serbia. I’ve been collecting Fashion Royalty dolls since April 2006. Although sewing and fashion design are not my profession, I’m passionate about creating couture clothes for dolls, which has been my primary hobby for a long time. My style emphasizes sensuality and elegance." -Irina Koroleva

Fashion_Empress_Tatyana_Alexandrova_doll

It has been a while since we last saw Tatyana, no? I have some versions of her at home and this one initially seemed as one that had many enticing elements: dark hair/pale skin combination, red lips, short bob, extravagant evening gown. The final result though is a bit overwhelming - we get a very severe looking doll (the slicked back hair don’t help), wearing a dress that has a mythological goddess as an inspiration (according to the designer), but it combines so many things one on top of the other, ending up overwhelming me.It tries to keep too fine a balance between fashion and fantasy, ending up as neither and thus losing its spark. When you veer into fantasy fashion territory, it helps going all out to deliver the message. It looks good but not “buy me” good, especially with lots of pre-orders pending. Plus we still have not yet seen four of our five club dolls. Details I love: the blood red used everywhere, the feather shrug (imagine a cape like this) and the jewellery. That collar should have had double the height to look really impressive on her. Nouveau Régime Tatyana has nothing to fear, she’s still my number one Tati by far. Must also mention that this Tatyana reminds me a lot of Once Upon A Time’s Evil Queen Lana Parilla. I also thought the surname of the doll was Alexandrovna…

The Integrity Toys 2025 Online Event: Le Cirque Cabaret - The Specialty Tents

Moving towards the end of the Integrity Toys 2025 Online Event, Le Cirque Cabaret, we had another workshop, this time with the awesome and talented Jason Kramer, who showed us how to make a fantasy cape in two different sizes - W Club members have gotten the patterns for this already. Alain Trembley also showed us how the Clairvoyante booth was made and how to make our own - again, we got the pattern for that as club members. But he did not just do that - he unveiled a doll he designed for the event and presented it to us, with Jason helping along - and it is probably the best doll of the event. Later on, we had a Q&A with the Integrity Toys design team, coordinated by Carol Roth of W Club. We got a change to see the designers in residence, Pamela Thompson and Anj Calvo, along with the known named of the team, Alain, David, Jessy and Chris. They answered to all sorts of questions from club members (that had been sent in advance before the day of the event) and some questions from people watching the live session. After that, we got to see the final presentation of the day, which included two dolls. And just like that, it was time for the event to end. Overall impressions: coherent, fun, well set up and thought out. My only major gripe with it was the use of AI to make animated videos for the presentations. It marred an otherwise outstanding online event, which should be the guide for any future one like it. If you do not know why using AI is bad - for the environment, for creatives and for your wallet - please go to any search engine and educate yourself. It is not the scope of this website to do it.

Le_Phoenix_Rashad_Roussi_doll_

Wow! Again, this is for me the best doll of the event. Rashad, who used to be Kyle Spencer (Evan Peters) from the AHS Coven collection, before becoming a Monarch as Rashad. In just his second appearance as this character, he knocks it out of the park - or better, Alain Trembley does, who designed this doll and just became the MVP of the event. Apart from being a gorgeous hunk of a doll (fake septum moustache notwithstanding), he’s dressed in an outfit that gives at least four options: 1) full outfit on (jacket, pants, boots, fur capelet etc.): a modern version of a hussar - the jacket is a minimal version of the dolman the hussards wore, and the capelet is the pelisse. I have been waiting for a great jacket like this (that does not look cartoon-y like Riot from Jem) forever and still need a military hat for it, 2) fur capelet over mesh shirt and pants - your average fantasy firebreather, 3) jacket over mesh shirt (or any other shirt) - a military look man and 4) mesh shirt with harness and leather straps, your average gay biker - see Pillion for details. It’s quite a coincidence I had already watched that film earlier in the day at our TIFF - then out comes this guy and boom! Alain, you’re a genius! His boots and pants are also awesome and I love how it seems they solved the pleather issue by using something that looks like it but is actually a treated fabric. The only thing marring a bit the overall look (again, apart from the fake septum moustache) is the shape of the fire on the sticks - sorry but that does not look like fire at all. Put it in a tall beer glass (like the ones used for weissbeer) and be done with it. He comes with a ticket booth (same style as Rayna’s booth) which is nice. A must for pre-order.

L_Aerialiste_Poppy_Parker

What a lovely Poppy! She looks like what Mattel could have done with the Glinda doll if they had sculpted Ariana Grande without that silly expression. She comes with a new screening, which suits her best and the hairstyle is almost like the classic Barbie ponytail. Her shoes have that heel-less sole instead of a heel, to mimic pointe shoes. Which we have seen from Saint Laurent back in 2017. The dress is cute and nicely embroidered, and she comes with a nice acrobat stand to perch on. Cannot help myself thinking about this gorgeous Bob Mackie Barbie. I might have entered the lottery for her but too many things are adding up and the budget is limited.

Agnes closed off the event’s festivities, as is rightfully her role as an event designated doll. This colour is becoming a signature for her, as we have previously seen her in Truly, Madly, Deeply and Sensational Soirée Her hairstyle and hair colour remind me of High Visibility Agnes. I love her make up, it’s not often we see this chartreuse green used on eyes - and it goes well with those pale lips. The gown is lifted from this Schiaparelli Haute Couture Fall 2024 one, adapted for doll size of course, and with the long train echoing the snakes she’s charming. I might try to add the snake necklace from Red Blooded Woman Kyori Sato if i get her. She kind of looks like a Roman era noble woman in the photo showing her from the back. Her accessories are all amazing. And she’s made to order.
