Dolly-Days Day 2 was, much like in previous years, the day of the unveiling of the new East 59th Collection, designed by the amazing Chris Stoeckel. The collection is called The Weekend In The Poconos. Poconos was a famous resort destination in the 1950s and the concept is that some of the East 59th characters spend a weekend relaxing there. So it’s a collection of mix-and-match sportswear and matching luggage.
Three of the four dolls will be available via Integrity Toys' authorized dealers, while Laird Drake is an IT Direct item and will only be available via a right-to-buy lottery.

A redhead version of Cora - this makes her now available in three basic hair colours: blonde, black and redhead - next one should be a brunette. I love the outfit, sporty but chic and elegant, in a way that only the 1950s could. She has a suitcase and each doll has a different luggage item, so all four make a complete luggage collection. Otherwise, her accessories are minimal, which didn’t use to be the case with this line. The good thing is that she comes with extra high heeled legs, in case she has to attend a cocktail party later on. I’d get her if I had a bigger budget - all three ladies ship mid February, so it is quite fast.

Maeve makes an appearance again, this time as a blonde, with darker skin. I am not crazy about the outfit - it reminds me of The Chauffeur’s Daughter Sabrina doll, which I did not get because of the drab outfit. Love the hat and bag. She too has the extra high heeled legs.

Evelyn is always impressive and this appearance is no exception, even if she’s in the sportiest we have ever seen her so far - in a very 1950s way of course. Her look is very elegant and well put together. The small case is much like the one Most Sophisticated Sabrina had, but in different colours.

Dashing Laird makes an appearance very quickly after his previous one, if you consider that it took years to make his second. Again a lottery doll (all the ladies are dealer dolls), with a limited edition of 600, it will be a bloodbath. I love his look and the colouring of it all - he looks smashing. He has a suitcase and a fedora hat, although I’d rather see him in a cap for a weekend in a resort. Come to think of it though, it is the first fedora that appears in the line, and it was about time for the guys, as it was the ubiquitous man’s hat back then. I entered the lottery, as he will be arriving mid to late March, which helps with better payment scheduling.
In case you did not notice, the collection is so coherent stylisticaly and visually, that the ladies can exchange pieces anytime - Chris Stoeckel took some photos to show it off. And you can also check a video of the dolls.
