I always wanted to get the original Avenue George V Victoire (and cannot remember what happened with the lottery back then) and now I get a chance. She is not an exact copy but comes really close to the original doll, so it is indeed a great opportunity for Victoire fans to get their hands on her - and the original sculpt making an appearance too! The Story:

As soon as Della Roux learned that she and the other beauties of the East 59th Agency had been chosen as the muses of the very first Metamorphosis Ball, she could hardly contain herself. She rushed to place an overseas long-distance call to Paris. “Victoire! Get on the next flight to New York, we’ve been selected to model at the event of the year!” The news spread quickly. Before long, electricity crackled through the styling room as the chosen models buzzed with excitement, speculating eagerly about who would be wearing whom. In the weeks leading up to this daring new venture, one that promised to become one of the most artistic and transformative visions of fashion ever realized in a single evening, the most beautiful ladies of the time were put through exhaustive fittings, creative explorations, and intensive styling sessions. It showed. The elevated look worn by the stunning Della Roux alone graced numerous magazine covers in the months that followed, while celebrities were soon spotted wearing one adaptation or another at movie premieres and red-carpet events. The concept of “adaptable” or “modulable” fashion introduced at the Ball became an immediate sensation, embraced for both its ingenuity and versatility. Instead of the usual extras included with East 59th dolls (drinks, luggage, make up, cigarettes etc.), each doll in this collection includes a different ornate doll-sized standing vintage-look "mirror" accessory that really reflects. The mirror part is reflective acetate as said during the presentation, while the frame seems to be just print and cut cardboard. The whole thing has the style of support that picture frames have. And they are true to scale. Della looks lovely here, except that pinkish lipstick that throws me off her entire look. I love her elegant hairstyle. Her gown, with its various transformations, looks like it could be part of the court at Versailles, with its ornate embroidery and texture. Love her jewellery too. I’m on the fence about ordering her. Luckily we have a lot of time to think about this.

The Story:

True to herself, the moment she appeared at the height of the boarding steps of the majestic 707 that had carried top model Victoire Roux back to the Big Apple, the press went wild. Who was she wearing today? Why had she returned from Paris? Which magazine cover would feature her next? And (of course), was it true that she was in love? The questions bored Victoire to death, but she knew she had to play the fame game, even as she longed to escape to the studio and learn more about the intriguing new Metamorphosis Ball she had been chosen to star in as a muse. Still, as she pushed her way through the most persistent reporters, something caught her eye. There, waiting on the tarmac, stood her friend Laird Drake beside one of the most beautiful town cars she had ever seen. She took it as a sign. Another beautiful Victoire as a redhead. Chris said during the presentation that Victoire is a redhead in his mind, and I could not agree more. Her make up is more subdued here but elegant. Her gown is more geometric and asymmetrical. The embroidery, as Chris said, helps keep the shape of the skirt. While beautiful, I think this is the doll I like the least from this collection. She also reminds me a lot of the early Victoire dolls (with the first sculpt).

When the ultra-sophisticated socialite Lady Aurelia Grey received the invitation to be the Guest of Honor at the Metamorphosis Ball, hand-delivered by none other than Laird Drake himself, she was delighted. She was deeply moved to learn that her tireless philanthropic work with sick children across the country was being celebrated by her peers. Almost immediately, one question rose above all others: what would she wear? The concept of the Ball was unlike anything before it, how could she possibly do the theme justice? With innovation, elegance, and just a whisper of romance; qualities she had mastered to perfection. The look she ultimately chose was rich and luxurious, and her appearance on the red carpet caused an instant commotion. Fashion editors took note at once, captivated by the sumptuous tones of the brocade and "fur" ensemble she had selected. Demands echoed through the crowd to know who the genius behind the look was; only for all to be dazzled when it was revealed that she was wearing one of her own creations. Aurora, like Della, has a gown that could very well appear at a ball in Versailles. The doll looks great, albeit a bit austere. I would prefer her in darker hair. The embroidered fabric is sumptuous and the voluminous skirt has a draping that will have to be seen in production dolls to help one make up their mind. She has the least impressive jewellery of the bunch - they could have included a bracelet and/or a brooch for the fur shrug.

The Story:

Poised, demure, elegant; these were the words most often used by industry insiders and devoted admirers alike to describe the elusive beauty of Evelyn Weaverton. Very little was known about the model herself, yet every appearance made an impact, every magazine cover further cementing her iconic, timeless image. The organizers of the Metamorphosis Ball had only one thing in mind when they requested, no, insisted, that she be present: Evelyn Weaverton would be the central focus of the publicity campaign for the most anticipated affair of the season. Their instinct proved flawless. Each glamorous version of the event’s advertisements, which seemed to blanket every square inch of the city and showcased the many ways her look could be worn, became a visual tour de force. By the following season, fashion houses across the nation were offering their own interpretations of the designs, clearly inspired by her imagery. I think Evelyn is the MVP of the bunch. Both the doll and the outfit are fantastic and look amazing in every variation. The colours, make up, hairstyle, embroidery, fabrics and cut, all combine to give a masterclass in fashion design and styling. The only thing I might have changed would be her hard metal choker - into a more period fitting pearl rows and diamond clasp one (see the evening section), and match the rest of the jewellery accordingly. The whole outfit brings to mind a similarly coloured one (asymmetrical too) worn by Gene Marshall doll. Sublime.

The Integrity Toys 2025 Online Event: le Cirque Cabaret - Entertainment Tent and Concession Stand

The second presentation of the day was a workshop by the dear and very talented Salvator Lopez Arriaga: Presto, Change-o! where he showed us how to style our dolls’ hair into three different styles: a hair top bun, the bumped ponytail look many Poppies have and the middle part/under the sides look (see the original Alejandra Luna for an example). During the workshop, he also taught us various tricks about doll hair styling, and it was really nice and quite fun. Then The third presentation begun, with the lovely and very talented Chris Stoeckel, who sported a nice bowler hat with veil, to fit the occasion! He designed two dolls for this event, one of them along with the 2nd designer in residence at Integrity Toys, the brilliant Anj Calvo! Both dolls look amazing! But we also got three doll fashion packs and a bag pack, under the concession stand guise. Alain showed us the packaging for the event dolls, which looks amazing. So we now know that the Clairvoyante Rayna booth is an bonus gift with the doll and not the doll box. Both dolls, the bag set and all outfits except the tattoo one (pre-order) are via lottery for club members. This is the part that had some misfires in the outfits but also two brilliant dolls and those amazing bags. Still, all entertaining, great presentations and very coherent and lush. This event definitely has a convention feel.

What a glorious Victoire! Chris always nails it in convention dolls and this time is no exception. The doll is very beautiful with her red hair and Japan skin tone, with sultry make up and windswept Hollywood diva hairstyle. With her va-va-voom corset and styling she has Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge vibes - we finally get a bit of the Cabaret from the event theme. She’s supposed to represent the extremely narrow waisted ladies appearing in freak shows that usually accompanied circuses as sideshows. Thankfully she’s all glamour and no freak. La Femme Sablier literally means The Hourglass Woman. And her accessories are also amazing: the tiny hat (which is fixed on her hair with a small comb), the pointed earrings that cuff her ears, the neck corset, the boots… Want her!

Aurelia looks so regal and impressive in this iteration - and how could she not be with that incredible coat she’s wearing? Inspired by the fashions of the 20s - 30s and the blues/jazz singers of the same era, Chris and Anj have done a fantastic job. if you want to get a feel of that era of fashion and the Art Deco inspirations, check the MET museum’s collections - for Paul Poiret, Jeanne Lanvin and Jeanne Paquin. And Jeanne Lanvin did a dress that has some Art Deco motifs reminiscent of the ones on the coat and Poiret did a coat in these colours and tassels. They also remind me of another Art Deco era masterpiece, the Chrysler building. I think all three designers would have loved this look. Absolutely brilliant. Chris said she has a new screening and she’s in the FR6 body to have a more elongated silhouette. Yes, the microphone is included. Want her!

The bearded lady was a fixture of 19th century circuses in their sideshows, so Chris translated that well into this Victorian inspired outfit with a jewelled mask substituting for the beard. It looks great apart from the bustle, which, in the photos at least, does not look well executed. Look for example at this Roberto Cavalli dress or this Patou by Lacroix dress. I think it needed a bit more oomph. Otherwise it is lovely. I love when they show the fashions on already released dolls.

The lady with the poodles used to be one of the main circus attractions, although the dogs in question used to be smaller, in order to successfully perform all the tricks and gymnastics she put them through. This is a lovely dog though and I hope we can see it in a future release again. The looks is somewhere between an Edwardian circus acrobat and a fairy tale prince in a ballet - take your pick. Love the bag, pity it does not open.

While Jessy is firmly within the concept, I keep not liking what he does for it. Fashion has always been fascinated by tattoos, so it is no surprise something like this appears, given the opportunity. But a tattoo is meant to be on a body and the outfits should have been something fully closer to it and maybe transparent. Examples are the famous tattoo prints by Jean Paul Gaultier. Cute bag. The doll is a customized Clownesque doll by Jessy. The gloves and boots look like they are made of skin, yuck. And those heels look very fragile.

So it was not a big surprise when the company announced to W Club members that designer Chris Stoeckel was revisiting FR: Monogram: the line was up his alley, with its couture style and retro inspiration. I personally am very happy that the Monogram line gets a fresh start - I like their style and elegance and already have at least five in my collection.Chris is a good choice to design this and it shows in this gift set. We get three outfits with the doll, all in one gorgeous box that has the original line’s colouring and design. So Chris got the two outfits out of Dior by John Galliano’s Spring 2007 Haute Couture collection: The pink suit almost looking like the original, but simplified (that zig-zag collar cannot be made commercially for dolls) and the coat collar from one outfit (third in the line up below) added to another coat and dress outfit from the same collection (middle in the row below), again simplified for production.

I love the outfits, the accessories, the doll with her couture extreme make up and gorgeous red hair. The handling of the tariff is weird - they should have just added a fixed amount in case that tariffs are still on when the doll arrives and scrap it if they are not. This would be more convenient for everyone involved and is already being done by other doll companies. Also, for us non -US citizens, it is flabbergasting that we have to pay a tariff that is imposed to USA imports. Make a distribution centre in EU or in China and ship to non USA people directly from there. Regarding the doll body brouhaha I saw on social media, let me just remind everyone that the original Monogram body is the Poppy Parker body with FR legs. So the only change is the FR legs being replace by Poppy high heeled ones. And Chris said, during the presentation, that the clothes (maybe not the lingerie) fit NU Face, albeit a bit snug.

Integrity Toys 2024 convention - Stilettos Out day 1: Welcome Dinner

The Welcome Dinner takes place at the end of the first convention day and, of course, has some more dolly goodies for attendees. "Monegasque Society" Eugenia Perrin-Frost as Monica Frost, designed by Alain Tremblay, would have been the centerpiece doll, if the dolls were actually there. Instead people saw her photo as a pop-up cutout on tables. The secret mystery bonus "Build-an-Accessory" from the NU. Face Seven Style Lab that holds a clue to the convention's story line was revealed. Before the night ended, attendees found out about the next accessory set for Donna Drake's "Cryptic Cases" gift set designed by Alain Tremblay, and also discovered that "Eye Candy" Victoire Roux was their giveaway doll, designed by Chris Stoeckel. This Eugenia is one of the most beautiful dolls of the convention. She reminds me a lot of another Eugenia convention doll, Bittersweet from 2013. And I have the same problem with this one that I had with Bittersweet: the lipstick that does not vibe with me at all. A more natural lip would have looked much better, and kept the style as is. In any case, she is a gorgeous doll. I love the dress (finally velvet!) and the shoes are magnificent with that decorative detail. The character she’s supposed to be is her mother or mother in law.

I don’t know about you, but I definitely did not have Victoire as a showgirl in my bingo card for the convention! The doll herself is gorgeous, but the outfit is missing a material intrinsic to showgirl costumes everywhere: feathers, plumes! It looks almost half finished without them. Pity, as the doll is so beautiful. The impression is similar to the classic Bird Of Paradise Gene Marshall doll from 1997.

A very DVF wrap dress in tie-dye fabric, part of the welcome doll gift set. Imogen looks nice in it but it is nothing to write home about. The back and necklace stand out from her accessories as well as the evidence form.

The Mysterious Build-An-Accessory was revealed during dinner, pieces of which were scattered in the Style Lab boxes. As explained when this year's Style Lab was first announced, those who purchased the entire Style Lab collection received all the components to complete this special bonus mystery accessory. Once all of the "diamond-encrusted" components are collected, they look like a weird device, once assembled. What could this mean? The plot thickens!
