The 2026 W Club year first offering: a pair of Jason Wu Collection dolls - Aymeline and Anais

The 2026 W Club year begins with two doll opportunities from designer Jason Wu, dressed in miniature looks inspired by creations from his Fall/Winter 2023 collection: "Mars Rising" Anais Perrin and "Mystic Moon" Aymeline Perrin. Both ladies are lottery right to buy for club members only, with a slightly better pricing than the usual Wu offerings. The dolls were presented by Alain Trembley and Carol Roth in a live presentation exclusive to the club, which also served as a “town hall” meeting for the start of the club year. The dolls were well received and. despite some video glitches, the event was just fine. Let’s see what all the fuss is about.

Mars Rising Anais Perrin fashion doll

The Story:

There were a lot of Perrins involved in W Cosmetics already, and Véronique didn’t want the brand to feel like a family drama, so she skipped the Paris fashion week shows. Her cousin Aymeline was completely lovely, and Véronique respected her decision to make her way on her own. Anais, though, was a different story. She was wildly unpredictable and a polemist at heart. With all that Véronique had going on, she was happy to keep her head down and focus on work. However, there was another duo that had a very different attitude. Missima Cosmetics was plotting a big comeback, and its owner—Natalia Fatalé—alongside her conniving partner, Kyori Sato, were popping up everywhere. They wondered if they could gain some advantage or work an angle by trying to woo the next gen Perrins. Agnes von Weiss was in attendance at the show as well. It was a great place for her to get “inspiration” for whatever would be next for AvW. Her recent stunts had put the new brand on the map in a big way, so why stop now? As the show was nearing its conclusion, Kyori had an idea to approach Anais backstage. Natalia agreed. When she and Natalia got up, Agnes decided to follow. “Perhaps a new inspiration I am not aware of?” she thought, smiling to herself. As Natalia and Kyori approached Anais, the photographers started snapping pictures. Agnes ran to catch up. As Anais turned around, cigarette in hand while still wearing her gorgeous Mars Rising red couture gown, Kyori and Natalia were positioned on her left and Agnes on her right. The media had snapped the perfect pic. Anais rolled her eyes and turned away. But it was too late. The narrative had been set. Everyone saw the new, hottest model in gorgeous couture, who also happened to be a Perrin, sandwiched between a slew of her cousins' biggest rivals—and it was all anyone could talk about.

Mars Rising Anais Perrin fashion doll

First up is the second ever iteration of Anais, this time in a darker skin tone and a more structured Jason Wu gown on her. I think it is too soon to see Anais in totally different skin tones. She has to become more familiar and embedded in the Fashion Royalty line up to get that treatment - and then again, I am not sure it was needed. Aymeline had the opposite route - her first iteration was dark skinned, then all the later ones were pale Caucasian dolls, so maybe it hearkens to that course, which, again, is a bit weird. it is always good to have a dark skinned doll in the line up but I’d prefer to see the characters that match those skin tones more often, instead of switching them for the sake of it. This could have been reserved for a special event doll or something similar. Having said that, she is a gorgeous looking lady, who would have looked so much better with a different hairstyle. This one is too matronly and conservative for a supposed “polemist”. A less stiff, more relaxed bob cut would have looked perfect.

Jason Wu Mars Rising Fall RTW 2023 collection

She is now in the regular Fashion Royalty body, instead of the NU Face one that she had in her first reveal. As for the gown, taken from the Jason Wu Fall 2023 RTW Collection, the fabric makes it look more stiff and structured than the original, with the bodice draping completely omitted and replaced by horizontal panels. They have done draping on bodices before, so I do not get this decision, which is definitely connected to the type of fabric used. And because of it, we are also losing the moire effect of the original gown. As if to compensate, we get a flat pair of feet with kitten heel shoes in addition to the high-heeled feet and sandals, a lovely metallic clutch (not a given with Jason Wu dolls) and an imposing, Ancient Egyptian looking necklace paired with huge drop earrings, a dramatic ring and a wrist watch, not present on the original look. As a dressed doll she looks fantastic. As a miniature iteration of a runway look from an established fashion designer it is a slight failure.

Mystic Moon Aymeline Perrin fashion doll

The Story:

Aymeline had worked relentlessly to build her reputation on her own. The last thing she wanted was to be considered a “nepo baby” in the fashion industry, so she curated her image and relationships very carefully. But now that her sister Anais decided to join the industry, everything was turning into a circus. The Perrin name that Aymeline had dropped was now front and center of headlines, with the “next generation of Perrin sisters” feeding the media frenzy. Aymeline loved her sister, but she didn’t necessarily always trust her decisions, as Anais thrived in chaos. But, at least for now, Anais was following her sister’s lead in staying away not only from their cousins’ cosmetics conglomerate, but also their big industry rivals. Aymeline had tried to focus on couture and runway work, but with Anais now working Paris Fashion Week with her, she worried that her curated image might become jeopardized. As Aymeline sauntered down the runway with her signature walk wearing her gorgeous, romantic Mystic Moon gown, all eyes were on her. She felt calm and at home. Finally, the pit that she had in her stomach all day subsided. But that changed in a minute as soon as she got backstage. She saw Anais in the corner, smoking. On one side of her she spotted AvW’s Agnes von Weiss, and the other side of her the two masterminds of Missima Cosmetics, whose personal reputations were even bigger than their brand’s—Natalia Fatalé and Kyori Sato. The cameras’ flashes were going wild. Aymeline turned in disgust. “She is going to hear about this!”

Mystic Moon Aymeline Perrin fashion doll
Mystic Moon Aymeline Perrin fashion doll

Aymeline has a very romantic look here, both in her make up and hairstyle, as well as her gown, again from the Jason Wu Fall 2023 RTW Collection, in contrast to the more structured look of her younger sister. I wonder how it would have played out if they had the opposite styles. Her face is soft and sultry, with the winged eyeliner becoming her signature. Integrity Toys is playing it very safe with these dolls, even though they are using the old AvantGuard sculpts in scaled form. They could have given them both more fashion forward styling, even the one used on the Wu runway. they did a much better job in translating the gown down to doll size on this one. if I am lucky to get the doll, I will try to have her neck ruffle stay up, like in the runway dress. We are getting lots of accessories here as well, with a bag in its dust cover, an intriguing pair of bracelets that look like hands grasping the doll’s wrists, a ring and bold hoop earrings. No flat feet for this one though, which is a missed opportunity. She’s in a rarely used skin tone, porcelain.

A new character with a familiar face by Jason Wu for Integrity Toys: Constellation Anais Perrin

Some time ago, there was an unexpected email from W Club, explaining that some members who had ordered dolls from the Cirque Cabaret event, had mistakenly been sent another doll, one that was not yet released. It was a new character and we would soon discover more about her. A profile photo of the doll’s head, with its protective hair net still one, made the rounds. Most people surmised that it looked like the expected 1/6th scale version of the open-mouthed Avantguard sculpt. And now, we got the confirmation. Additionally, the first appearance is designed by Jason Wu’s and she is a new character in the Fashion Royalty canon. The doll comes dressed in a miniature Jason Wu look inspired by one of his life sized creations that appeared in his Fall/Winter 2023 collection, featuring a long evening coat and a flowing gown adorned with artwork by Jessica May Underwood, a designer and artist renowned for her delicate pencil and watercolour work. While this new character will be part of the Fashion Royalty collection, to better match the cut of the gown, the designer chose to debut the doll on the NU. Face body. The doll is available through lottery exclusively for W Club members.

Constellation_Anais_Perrin_doll_

The Story:

When her sister Aymeline first entered the modeling industry, Anais thought it was cliché. The society set was filled with people with famous last names-- and those like Aymeline who dropped hers professionally, but still had the connections to go into fashion, modeling or influencing. Anais wanted nothing to do with that. She was always a bit more rock-and-roll—a free spirit who loved counter-culture and being contrarian. After attending an elite boarding school in Switzerland, she charted her own path. She photographed alternative bands, mixed high-end couture pieces with fast-fashion and hung out at cool underground clubs throughout Europe. While she didn’t mean to be an influencer, her following grew organically—she was authentic and she was cool. But a trust fund doesn’t stretch as far these days as it used to, and Anais knew she had to do something else. Given who she was and the heft of her family, she consistently received offers from major fashion houses, luxury brands and more to get involved. Finally, she gave in. When Anais told her sister that she was following in her runway footsteps, Aymeline was shocked. Then Anais dropped the bomb. “Just so you know, I will be using our last name…you can add it if you want.” Aymeline was frustrated. She wanted to try to make her own way—as much as one could when everyone knew who your family was. But her sister Anais figured she would lean into it. Their cousins were very successful in fashion and cosmetics, and that meant the Perrin name could fetch an extra premium…

Mystery solved: we finally get to see the new character added to FR. And she’s not only Aymeline’s sister, they are both Perrin cousins! I don’t think we needed more Perrin family members to be added to the story - why not Elyse cousins? Or a totally different family with a more interesting backstory than wealthy Monegasque blue-bloods become models? Is this the best IT can do with the story-lines?

Constellation_Anais_Perrin_doll_accessories

The doll is gorgeous: as with her sister, the 1/6th scaling of the Avantguard sculpt (this one being the open mouth one), works really well and gives us a gorgeous face. Hairstyle and make up work well with it, giving her a dreamlike quality and elegance that contradicts her supposedly “rock” attitude. Doesn’t she look a bit like Gigi Hadid? Also, some members got curious about her make up, noticing similarities with the Jason Wu Poppy dolls and wondered if we had another sticker screening doll coming. The liaisons only said in reply that the screening used for the Wu Poppy dolls is exclusive to them and them alone. But that is not what people are wondering about - it is the application method worrying them. IT and the liaisons declined to answer citing industrial espionage reasons (LOL, honestly - if a competitor wants to know how you produce the dolls, they buy one and dissect it. Simple as that). I must say this does not spell Integrity at all.

Model wearing Jason Wu Fall Winter 2023 outfit consisting of a black coat over a white silk dress featuring a sketch design

The outfit, as noted above, is from Jason Wu’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection (you can see it above) and it looks great in miniature. It is a minimal luxury look that gives The Row vibes but with an Asian twist, which is really good. The doll comes with a pair of earrings (luckily not simple studs as Jason usually gives his collection dolls), high heeled sandals, a purse (another extra addition for a Wu doll) and underwear - the bra peeps through the top of the dress as in the original. You can see the doll in the video below:

Absinthe Elyse Jolie™ is the new Jason Wu W Club offering

The W club emailed members with yet another Fashion Royalty doll opportunity from designer Jason Wu, featuring custom couture fabric from one of Jason Wu’s adult-sized fashion mills. Her name is "Absinthe" Elyse Jolie and, if you’re wondering, we still haven’t got any of the 5 exclusive made to order W Club dolls! It’s October, where are they? Instead we keep getting expensive dolls that nobody asked for - is this how we celebrate 20 years of W Club? By being late in delivering to its members? And if anyone says that we got so many dolls already, I will say that each and every one of them, fab or not, specifically mentioned that they were not part of the five exclusive W Club dolls we were promised when we bought our membership.

Absinthe _Elyse_Jolie_doll

The Story:

Elyse Jolie had always been a private person, but she was having a difficult time keeping it that way of late. Only Adèle knew that she had been dating billionaire playboy, Alexandre Beaumont-Durand, who finally announced his separation from his wife of several years, which only made the paparazzi hound him harder for a scoop on whom he might be dating. Well, Véronique and Eugenia also knew, because Adèle had to fill them in once Elyse agreed to be the face of a new makeup campaign that W was producing. Elyse was even going to walk the runway. “What have I done?!” Elyse wondered. The runway was far away from her formerly private life running her family’s finishing school. She knew once she became a model, she would be in the public eye every day. Now, as her name had surfaced as Alex’s possible new love interest, she was worried about even more attention!

Elyse begged Alex not to attend the upcoming runway show, where she was walking in a collab between W Cosmetics and Jason Wu’s haute couture line in Paris. But trying to get an uber-successful man like Alex to do- or not do- something was not an easy task. Making matters worse, Alex was an investor in W Cosmetics’ rival AvW by Agnes von Weiss. “Please, mon chère,” she begged. “I don’t need the cameras and the headlines. I don’t want to steal attention away from the W Cosmetics team.” “You are so beautiful when you worry about nothing,” Alex gushed, brushing off Elyse’s concerns and taking her face in his hands while he kissed her deeply. She knew he would do whatever he wanted.

The day of the show, Elyse was backstage, having her hair and makeup expertly done by the W Cosmetics team, where she would be showing off a new line called “Absinthe”. As she was set to close the show, before she moved from hair and makeup to wardrobe, she couldn’t help but peek into the audience. She spotted Alex in the crowd, chatting up someone. She couldn’t make out who it was, because, as she worried, cameras were going off all around him. When Alex had arrived at the show, he had noticed a familiar face in the audience, so he made his way to sit next to her. “What are you doing here, beautiful?” he asked, sliding into his chair. The young woman looked at him blankly and then laughed. “You must think I am Lilith!” Eden said. Alexandre looked confused but then joined the laughter as Eden explained that she and Lilith were identical twins. He told her how he was an investor in AvW and had met Lilith and become better acquainted in recent months. Their discussion was cut short by no less than five men with cameras and a handful of autograph seekers.

The show was about to begin. Elyse paced backstage, trying to be supportive of the other girls as they made their way down the runway. Finally, it was her turn. Elyse drew in her breath as she did her signature glide down the runway. She was effortless and looked like she was floating on air. Her beautiful updo showed off her cheekbones and the stunning Absinthe W Cosmetics palette. As she got to the end of the runway for her signature pirouette-inspired turn, she saw Alex and then saw Lilith next to him. Or was it Eden? It was always so hard to tell. She tried not to get distracted so she could do her job.

The show was a rousing success. However, Alex’s presence did cause a stir in the press. First was the rumor that he was in the audience to expand his portfolio and make an investment in AvW’s rival, W Cosmetics. Second was a bunch of photos and salacious headlines speculating that they had uncovered Alex’s new lover—and naming her as… Eden Blair.

We definitely did not need another Jason Wu doll this time of the year, and especially this one. She is similar to Bergdorf Goodman Elyse - she’s the Zara Version. And the dress is not as long and as fluid as the real one. The accessories have been done before in other colours and the pouch for the bag is not a saving grace - far from it. It’s mainly something for the first time members of the club - so good luck to all who enter.

The 2025 Jason Wu Poppy Parker collection is here!

The Jason Wu Poppy Parker collection had been teased at the convention - attendees were even shown photos of a prototype. Unveiled only a few days after the untimely passing of Vaughn Sawyers (and on the eve of his memorial service), the presentation felt weird, despite the anticipation such a collection brought to club members. Jason was inspired by looks from his actual Resort 2011 runway collection, which was the same one that informed the legendary Bergdorf Goodman Poppy Parker. Jason mentioned that she could fit right in this one as well. The collection dolls also sport a brand new screening. All the dolls are W Club-only "right-to-buy" lotteries and have the high pricing and very limited editions associated with Jason Wu dolls.

This Poppy looks the most different from the other dolls in the collection, almost like she’s not even Poppy. The new screening in these colours, and the way her lips are painted outside the line, makes her quite unique. Jason said that his 2011 resort collection was inspired by 60s stars on holidays, and she does give Catherine Deneuve (albeit brunette) vibes. I would have liked her shoes to be Roger Vivier Belle Vivier pumps, like the ones Deneuve wore in Belle Du Jour. The suit is detailed, with organza piping and a lovely organza blouse underneath. The accessories are minimal, as with all Jason Wu dolls. Her price is to be expected - last time we got a daytime look Poppy from Jason it was 2023 and the two Spring 2021 dolls, each retailing $175.00 two years ago. Plus this one has better accessories. I entered for her as she’s very intriguing. She also reminds me of Black As Night Kyori Sato. She will fit great with the other Poppies of my collection.

Very elegant and very 60s European in the south of France, despite the St. Barth name (should have been Cannes or St Tropez). The only thing that does not fit is the hairstyle, even though it probably hearkens back to Brigitte Bardot in her heyday. It looks mismatched to the more casual, carefree but stylish outfit. A simple ponytail with or without a fringe, or a bob, would have looked better. I would also have liked her bow to be more like the original outfit’s one, looser and longer, much like the one Bergdorf Poppy has. These two are my only gripes, but they are enough to make me not enter for her - these prices mean you must love the doll 100% to get her. Love the colour of her bag and shoes, her belt should have been the same. Jason said the polka dot pattern connects her to Anniversary Kiss. The original outfit was the opening one for the runway show.

She’s gorgeous. The smoky eye-pale lip combination is always a winner in my book and this is no exception. Add to that a hand embroidered couture Jason Wu gown and it’s perfection. Even though she would have looked so much better with a pixie cut like Michelle Williams’ (she wore the gown at the Venice Film Festival red carpet in 2010), this doll is breathtaking. Jason said that the gown has embroidered by the team that does the embroideries for his own human collections. I saw many comments assuming that meant it was done in the US because of that and the only thing I could do was laugh. All major fashion houses do their embroideries in Asia, except some couture brands that use Lesage in Paris. India is the major epicentre of luxury embroidery in the world, Lesage themselves have a major embroidery company there along with an embroidery school. Another major company is Les Ateliers 2M, for which there is a nice documentary. So these were probably made in India and shipped to China for assembly. To mimic the original’s cluster embroidery (which Jason showed us up close as he had the very same gown behind him during the presentation), they used a combination of a pearl atop a sequin. Again the bow could have been more relaxed and long like the original. I am entering for her despite her price (ouch!), she’s a gorgeous doll and wearing such a breathtaking gown. Luckily she has a beige/grey clutch instead of the black one Michelle carried. The shoes are transparent pumps, which is nice! Her earrings are amazing too, much better than the simple studs Jason usually puts on his dolls.

Jason wanted to add an extra doll to this collection (the original line up would have been three dolls), as he had an idea about making a colour variant of the Michelle Williams gown, this time in black. Jason named her Portrait in Black II to make a connection to the first Poppy ever released wearing a gown (for which there has already been a remake). The interesting thing is that the sleeves on this one have the length that the gown had originally on Michelle Williams, while the Iconic Moment one has sleeves that end just below the elbow. The shoes are also smoky transparent, to better match the dress. I do not like her hairstyle, it looks like a bad stiff wig stuck on her head. Even Carol Roth mentioned on the presentation that if someone wanted, they could wash off the styling product to make the look softer. It looks worse from the back, as it separates into two big chinks, instead of being continuous. This one has the most limited edition of all, just 300 pieces - the lottery is going to be a blood bath.

Another Jason Wu designed W Club 20th anniversary doll: Optic Gold Nadja Rhymes

We thought we were getting one Jason Wu Club 20th Anniversary doll this year but, no, we just discovered we are actually getting another one (and a Poppy to come). All W Club members get the chance to pre-order "Optic Gold" Nadja Rhymes, designed by Jason Wu. There was also a mention during the video pre-recorded presentation that we will see him again soon - is that for his Poppy or something else entirely?

The Story:

In celebration of the W Club’s 20th anniversary, Jason Wu brought together varied inspirations to create the gorgeous Optic Gold Nadja Rhymes doll! He blended collector-favorite past Fashion Royalty couture (in Optic Verve and Optic Clash), marrying it with an inspirational gown that Wu had conceptualized for a famous celebrity. He chose Nadja as the perfect representative model, using custom fabric made for his own adult-sized couture fashions to complete the look. The result, another gorgeous, celebratory creation available to all W Club members to order as a special bonus!

Jason said that this, contrary to his dolls always wearing miniature versions of his dresses, is inspired by a Fashion Royalty holy grail doll: Optic Verve Agnes Von Weiss. But there is a thread connecting this to his real-life dresses: the fabric is a scaled down version of the one used on a gown from his Fall/Winter 2024 collection (seen on the left below) and later worn by Eiza González on the premiere of her film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare in April 2024 (seen on the right below).

The fabric is metallic and has a martelé texture (hammered metal) that is quite difficult to translate to doll scale - you can see it better on the train of the dress in the photo of the doll’s back. They had to go to the factory that made the fabric for Jason originally, to recreate it in doll scale. She is literally dripping with gold - her hands are chrome gloves, she has a coordinating clutch (with martelé texture too), the earrings are a new design that looks organic (they are slightly different from each other) and the necklace is a remake of the one Optic Verve Agnes was wearing. Nadja’s face could have used a bit more intense lip colour to pop. The price is a bit lower than the usual Jason Wu Collection dolls come with, but the extra tariff charge makes it the same.
