Integrity Toys 2019 Convention Day 3 - The W Club Luncheon

Saturday is the last day of the convention and, apart from workshops, it means W Club Luncheon, usually dedicated to Nu Face. Club members got the Paris Runway Giselle Diefendorf centerpiece doll and received the NYFW Karolin Stone doll as a gift. Both were designed to celebrate the Fall/Winter 2020 Fashion Week by Jessy Ayala. Then, Carol Roth hosted an informative Q & A panel on stage with the Integrity Toys design team, where Club members' pre-screened questions were answered.

Note: All dolls pictured in these photos are prototypes; final colors and textures may vary slightly.

Giselle looks like a cross between Sister Mogul Giselle and Live, Work, Play! Giselle. The outfit is a simplified version of one from Balmain Spring 2019 Haute Couture collection. I love her make up and styling.

Making a return after quite an absence (it’s only the third version ever), Karolin Stone is the gift doll this time. Her fans will love her. I still don’t like the sculpt. The outfit is nice, although not a match for her Salvador Lopez Arriaga version.

Integrity Toys 2019 Convention: Live From Fashion Week - Day 1

The 2019 Integrity Toys Live From Fashion Week convention opened officially this week in Baltimore and once again, this blog will be bringing you all the new dolls and outfits, as products become available at the convention throughout the weekend. This year's theme is all about fashion, and with the exception of the Poppy Parker Style Lab (which celebrates the 10th anniversary of Poppy Parker), every exclusive doll offered at the event, whether in the convention collection, salesroom, centerpieces or giveaways, is inspired by either Spring, Resort, Summer, Fall or Winter fashion weeks as follows:

Poppy Parker is Fashion Week Spring/Summer 1967

Fashion Royalty is Fashion Spring/Summer 2020

Monarchs is Fashion Week Resort 2020

East 59th is Fashion Week Fall/Winter 1956

The Industry is Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020

NU. Face is Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020

Dolls from the Fashion Royalty® Collection and the NU. Face™ Collection were designed by Jessy Ayala, the East 59th® Collection by Chris Stoeckel, The Monarchs Homme by Vaughn Sawyers and the Poppy Parker™ Collection by David Buttry.

The convention registration started on Wednesday for the attendees who arrived early and they all received "Fresh Perspective" Baroness Agnes Von Weiss in their welcome bag. The bag had Powder Puff Poppy Parker printed on it, celebrating Poppy’s 10th anniversary.

I’m not crazy about this version of the Baroness. She’s beautiful but I find her make up too pronounced and candy coloured to like (it looks more prominent in real life photos). Her outfit and accessories remind me of Going Public Eugenia. And, as you will see below, most of the dolls in this convention so far, remind me of older releases. I don’t know if it is due to the production problems that troubled Integrity Toys this year or simple lack of inspiration, but I’m a bit underwhelmed by what I’m seeing in the first convention day, with a couple of notable exceptions.

Cute but it’s like Vivacité with another skintone. The total would look completely washed out, save for the raven hair and brightly coloured shoes. The blouse looks beautiful but the skirt does not do it justice. Where is Ferré when you need him!

She look a lot like her sister from the Faces of Adéle giftset. From the waist up she gives me Adut Akech vibes in Valentino. The pants are not to my liking, they needed a more fluid fabric to work properly. Love the bag and hat, her accessories in general are superb.

She’s fantastic! People have been clamouring for ages for a light coloured version of the Afroamerican Integrity Toys sculpts and the result is breathtaking. Her outfit is gorgeous too, reminding me of the OOAK Bow Down Nadja from the 2017 convention.

I’m not against romantically styled dolls, but they have to be styled in a certain way. This is not it. Very renaissance looking, a little modern Juliet, looking for her Romeo. The extra flat feet and sandals only accentuate the effect.

What a beautiful face! The only thing bothering me are the orangey brows. Her hairstyle and earrings are straight from the fashion magazines of the sixties. Her kimono though is not up to par. The huge obi distorts her silhouette in an ungainly way.

The last doll of the convention collection is a new Aurelia. Blue seems to be a favourite colour for her. She looks regal and I love her jewellery. Not enough to want her for my collection though. The hairstyle is a bit off for her era though, it was popular in the next decade. Not many accessories but killer gloves.

The convention salesroom had a few more dolls available for collectors, with a new sculpt and character of - gasp! - older age debuting in the Industry line.

One of the oldest and most loved characters makes his appearance again! Darius has a new sculpt, not a gorgeous as the previous one though. He look more like Tyson Beckford now. The hot pink suit is lovely. He has nice accessories too, plus a hat and an earring. And yes, the ugly sneaker trend has hit the Monarchs too. Must add that titling your male doll The Art Of Manliness in 2019 and the era of #MeToo and LGTB+ rights is a bit weird.

The third Club doll for 2019 has been unveiled by Integrity Toys and... there's two of them!

Integrity Toys unveiled the 3rd club exclusive doll for 2019. It is two doll’s instead of one, but it’s is not a giftset. Rather it is two dolls, sold separately, that count as one for the purpose of the five exclusive club dolls. The two ladies are NuFace models "Your Motivation" Erin Salston™ and "Like No Other" Nadja Rhymes™, designed by IT designer Jessy Ayala. I have no idea why they did not bundle the, together as a giftset to make the price more palatable for members. As it is they’re only $5.0 less than retail price of NuFace dolls. As a giftset they’d probably be $200.00 together, which would be cheaper for members but now it makes more money for Integrity.

Erin is my favourite of the two, both as doll and as outfit. She’s in colours I don’t have either in hair or skin, she has beautiful make up and hairstyle. The transparent vinyl trench is simply gorgeous. Her shoes and jewellery are beautiful. I am not crazy about her slip dress, as we just got one with Eugenia, but it’s ok. I’m probably getting her.

Nadia is beautiful- she always is. And I already have her with this hairstyle. And the only thing I really would love to have from her outfit are the shorts, So I’m probably not getting her. And here’s the thing: if they were together as a giftset, I would probably get them both.

public.jpeg

Designer Jessy Ayala had a picture of the two dolls wearing each other's clothes to give you an idea of what they would look like if you got both, said Integrity. And I say, you guys should have made them a giftset to make them easier to sell together and not resort to gimmicks like this.

NU.Face Essentials: capsule collection by Integrity Toys

The second capsule collection revealed this week consists of three NU. Face close up dolls designed by Jessy Ayala. The concept is the launch of Lukas Maverick's very own underwear brand, that looks suspiciously a lot like Calvin Klein (hence the black & white photos). Each doll comes with NF branded underwear, shoes, a stand and a certificate of authenticity, enclosed in an elegant package. This collection is brought to the W Club by IT Direct with 3 members-only lotteries and special Club pricing of only $99 per doll (plus S&H). The two ladies will be available now and ship soon after the lottery ends, while Lukas will be available later this summer. The price is not bad, but it is still a basic doll. Good to see edition sizes at 900 (Dominique is 800), gives more chances to win. I’d like to get all of these.

Integrity Toys Luxe Life 2018 Convention: the W Club luncheon

Saturday always begins with the W Club luncheon. Club members got to see the Lilith Blair centerpiece doll (and many the chance to buy her) and received her twin sister Eden Blair doll, both designed by Jessy Ayala.
Carol Roth hosted a Q & A panel on stage with the Integrity Toys design team, where Club members' questions were answered.
