New East 59th collection: The Four Seasons!

A new East 59th Collection of four dolls was unveiled two days ago, designed of course by Chris Stoeckel. It is named The Four Seasons Collection and the concept is that each East 59th doll is doing a glamorous ad campaign for a top clothing company, having four looks representing the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. The doll screenings are all new, which is good, as they were beginning to be repetitive. Two dolls from the collection will be available via Integrity Toys' authorised dealers, but the "Summertime Outing" Evelyn Weaverton and "The Winds Of Winter" Victoire Roux dolls are IT Direct dolls and were only be available via a right-to-buy lottery for W Club members.

Despite the new screening, this Constance reminds me a lot of the first one. After all, Chris says it is based on the first one for inspiration. I’m not in love with the print of the dress (and matching coat lining) but love the colour combination of blue and yellow. She has shopping bags as accessories, and an umbrella, which sadly is not functioning. Wonder how many more people would go for her if her umbrella could open.

 She’s the one I coveted from this collection. I like her look, both doll and outfit. But the real attraction is the picnic set in a wicker hamper, which is something we have not seen before at IT and looks amazing. The wicker matching purse is the cherry on top. The screening is a modified updated version of the first screening, with a more sultry look, per Chris. Gorgeous.

First time with a forward eye screening for Della, yet she still looks a lot like before to me. I’m not crazy about her blonde hair/blue eyes combo, she always looks so much better in darker colouring. Just imagine her in a dark brown bubble cut with brown eyes. Her outfit is very chic, with that lovely hat and bag, and her design portfolio suits it just fine. Pity her jewellery is very basic.

Victoire is dressed for winter and has a dog as well! The fabric print looks great but I think she would look even better if it was in shades of emerald green to contrast her red hair. Would have also preferred some fur trim on the collar, hat and gloves (and she could come without the dog and flowers to offset the cost). Lovely jewellery and bag. The new screening has different eyebrows and looks a bit more sultry. The Winds of Winter is so Game Of Thrones!

Poppy Parker At Home collection unveiled and sold out almost immediately!

The first proper doll collection of Integrity Toys for 2024 was none other than four new Poppy Parker dolls. This year is the 15th anniversary of the commercial juggernaut of IT (she made her debut back in 2009), so people are expecting lots of special PP releases! There was a live presentation for this collection, where the designer David Buttry and Carol Roth talked about Poppy’s history (did you know Chip’s full name is Frederick Charles Farnsworth the III? Or that he has a sister nicknamed Cookie? LOL) present to you four brand new Poppy Parker Collection dolls, all created by incredible The collection is named Poppy Parker At Home and the concept is that she returns to her roots for a visit home to reconnect with her friends and family. To further enhance the nostalgia about Poppy’s early days, each doll in this collection comes packaged in a faithful reproduction of the original Poppy Parker window box, complete with the ribbon ties on the sides. This Poppy has the Bergdorf eye combined with the Reluctant Debutante brow. The basic idea behind the collection is that all dolls remind people of that first year, without copying any of them. Her dress as a shape reminds me of Reluctant Debutante with the gingham pattern of Dorothy from Oz (and there is a light blue satin petticoat underneath the skirt). The embroidered bag is nice but overall the doll is not giving much.. I briefly entertained the thought of getting her as a substitute of Sweet in Switzerland Poppy but she pales in comparison.

This is the star of the collection - she was the first doll to sell out. She’s my second favourite of the bunch - see my first below. She has the Pillow Talk screening (Summer Magic) and hairstyle, just in different colours. Love the colour combinations here, although the sweater misses out on photos - I bet it looks much better in real life. She sports a full length turtleneck under the sweater. Her overall vibe does remind me of Sweet in Switzerland so I really want to get this one. Plus she has the best accessories of all in this collection.

This is my favourite doll from this collection. She has a Co-ed Cutie vibe but as if she’s graduated and has her own home now. She has the Summer Magic screening and looks gorgeous with the colour blocking of the dress (that’s a one piece dress, no separate obi). People mention Sparkling Sunset as a similar one but that dress had an empire waistline and a different belt style. Look closer people! She’s also the only one with high heeled feet, which matches her look. She’s a keeper.

this is the lottery doll and is the only one I am not crazy about. Yes, she is a beautiful doll but neither the pajamas or Mr. Teddybear or her pink lipstick do it for me. She has the Bergdorf eye with the Reluctant Debutante eyebrow. I do not even like the colours of her plaid outfit - if it was in a green/blue combination, it might have swayed me a bit. Pass.

It looks like this is the year of fashion only releases! After the two Poppy Parker ensembles revealed earlier this year, we now have three new outfits made to order for W Club members. They are designed to fit Fashion Royalty and similar 1:6 scale dolls and created by Integrity Toys designer Chris Stoeckel. Chris changed era for this release and, instead of his usual 1950s fare, he was inspired by fashions worn by celebrities seen at Studio 54 during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

This is right up my alley. I love a pinstripe suit for my dolls (and do not own one already), plus the gorgeous green blouse is a winner - with the bra top too! This looks for me will be always related to the famous Helmut Newton photograph of an Yves Saint-Laurent pinstripe suit from 1975. There are images of Bianca Jagger and Diane Von Furstenberg with pinstripes from the era (Diane’s is from Studio 54 no less). I would have preferred that the pant hem touched the ground, but I love it anyway. The fedora is the cherry on top!

 This looks like something Jerry Hall or Patti Hansen (the Rolling Stones original wives club) would have worn back in the day, but I could not find any photo online - she appears with a plunging neckline plus fur coat in some photos but it is a draped V neck dress. I did find this daring outfit that comes close. Again I’d have preferred the pant hem to touch the floor. Gorgeous colour.

This looks like an amalgam of different styles of the era - the Halston flowing dresses and the shiny stretch pants with tube tops. Key looks here by Iman, Olivia Newton-John and Halston. Love the style and especially the chain necklace with a shape we have not seen before.

Barbie collaborates with Kartell to release doll-size versions of their most popular chairs!

I love doll sized furniture, especially when they are designer chairs. And now we have a new collaboration that results in some iconic chairs being released in Barbie size pink coloured versions! Kartell, the famous acrylic furniture brand, has collaborated with Mattel, making a set of five of their most popular chair designs in 1/6 scale. The set will be available from Mattel Creations on the 16th of April 2024, 9.00 am PT. The price is $60.00 for the set.

Mattel Creations partnered with Kartell, the Milan-based design company known for transforming furniture into art, to recreate five of their iconic designs for Barbie. These bold and elevated doll-sized interpretations also delve into the future of plastics, using innovative materials to produce unique seating pieces. The five chair designs are: the famous Louis Ghost, Masters, A.I., Venice, and Ero|S| chairs, all designed by the world renowned designer Philippe Starck for Kartell. They all come in pink coloured plastic, with Louis Ghost and Ero|S| being transparent. They are made with Kartell materials (bio based plastic) and the packaging is from recycled materials, something that (unfortunately) is not the norm for Mattel. I love the box and the way they are nestled inside it. What a magnificent set, not only for doll collectors but also for design lovers! And the price is great, as usually miniature chairs are quite expensive when coming from furniture companies.

Cold Carbon X Integrity Toys collaboration: the two final dolls are here!

The final two of four dolls in the Integrity Toys X Cold Carbon Collaboration were revealed to club members on the 3rd of April. They are designed by Marina Zrnić, who has established her Cold Carbon OOAK doll brand and is very popular with collectors. She has a very distinct style, incorporating goth, steampunk and cyberpunk elements. Early this year we had the first two dolls in this collaboration revealed, and they are arriving just now to the lucky winners of that lottery. Just so you know, Marina announced that she will stop making dolls after this year, to focus on her other work. Both dolls are again lottery opportunities for W Club members for the right to buy. If there are any left, they will then be offered to the general public.

In the third of four sensational dolls created for Integrity Toys X Cold Carbon Collaboration, you are invited to be part of the story and enter the chilling, haunting world of vampire hunters!

In the dimly lit streets of the village, the dapper figure of Tenzin Dahkling glided with effortless grace, his cane tapping rhythmically against the cobblestones. With a debonair charm and keen intellect, he was not your typical vampire hunter. Clad in tailored suits and polished boots, Tenzin exuded an air of sophistication as he tracked down the creatures of the night. His cane, more than a mere accessory, was poised to strike at any undead foe. With each encounter, Tenzin Dahkling proved that style and substance were the perfect weapons against the darkness that lurked in the dimly lit shadows cast by the blood moon.

Is it weird that the male doll is again the best of the two in this second Cold Carbon release? Or is it just me? I usually like the ladies more in Marina’s personal OOAK releases, but in this collaboration it has been the exact opposite. I love Tenzin, have two of his three iterations so far, so I’m entering the lottery for this guy and cross fingers. He’s exceptional. Hair, face, clothes, accessories, all combine into something really beautiful and well thought of. I just wish the hat’s crown was a bit wider to sit better on the head. I thought he was a vampire at first look, the whole style reminds me of Coppola’s Dracula gone West. Those glasses! I hope they stay properly on the face and not slide off. He should have had better socks though, they look like sport socks lol.

For the fourth and final sensational doll created for this Integrity Toys X Cold Carbon Collaboration, the tables turn around and the chase will start yielding results... Vampires beware, the hunters are drawing near!

Kesenia Valentinova was more than just a fashionable socialite—she was a relentless hunter of the undead, reveling in the drama her chosen path brought her. With a vial of blood elegantly displayed around her neck, she lured vampires with the promise of their most coveted prize. Adorned in the finest fabrics, carrying an innocent looking umbrella that doubles as her weapon of preference, Kesenia danced around her fellow vampire hunters, her every move a carefully orchestrated hunt. For her, the thrill of the chase was as intoxicating as the finest champagne, and she embraced it with flair, proving that even amidst the glitz and glamour, the shadows held secrets waiting to be unveiled.

First thing that struck me upon seeing this one is the chin piercing. Apparently it is called labret. We have had dolls with piercings before but not on this spot. But the weird think is the size of the piercing jewellery, not the spot it is on. It looks like she has a goatee or something with that spider hanging there. Other than that, the doll is beautiful and reminds me a lot of a couple of the first Kesenias, Porcelain Beauty and Follow The Line. I generally do not like fringe on my dolls so I’d pass this anyway and I also have Porcelain Beauty, who looks a lot like her. I love her coat and accessories, and luckily I have a similar umbrella from the American Horror Story: Coven Fiona Goode doll. Remember that the Kesenia sculpt was the one used originally for the Ashton Drake Brides of Dracula dolls.

One final note: I keep seeing comments everywhere about how the IT X Cold Carbon dolls are watered down versions of Marina’s OOAK dolls. Well, you’d have to pay $990 to get that level of detail and customising, not $175. Below is a video showing the dolls rotating.
