7 Sins is the theme of the Integrity Toys online Fall event - and there's a doll for W Club to pre-order!

As announced during the 2023 W Club registration period, we now have the initial details about the special IT online event that will take place in lieu of the traditional convention structure for this year. Currently expected to take place sometime later this Fall, it will be similar in scope to last year’s online event, but based on collector feedback, the event format itself will be more streamlined. Does this mean less dolls and presentations? I’m guessing that will be the case, it will help with orders, shipping and timely delivery.

This Year’s Theme is “7 Sins”: characters from select Integrity Toys’ brands will feature as personifications of the 7 deadly sins. There will be no pre-registration and no fee is required to participate: All 2023 W Club members will be able to participate. Items will become available via IT Direct, aside from the made-to-order pre-event doll available for pre-order today. Items will be more limited than last year and available via the right-to-buy lottery method. This is a logical consequence of last year’s multiple ways to get the event dolls, which meant some were delivered months later. Also I’m guessing some made to order dolls were not made in quantities sufficient enough to make a profit for the company.

Sweet_Temptation_Tulabelle_True_Dressed_Doll

This year’s pre-event doll is “Sweet Temptation” Tulabelle True, one of the last dolls created by Mark Tinkey for Integrity Toys - Mark is pursuing a career outside the fasion doll realm. Every W Club member gets the chance to pre-order this doll, with a deadline on August 28th, 2023 at Noon Eastern Time.

Sweet_Temptation_Tulabelle_True_Dressed_Doll

Temptation is not one of the seven deadly sins but maybe this doll symbolizes the urge to indulge in one or more of them. Tulabelle never did it for me in any of her incarnations so far, but this one is by far her best iteration in the revamped line. We see butterfly jewellery, matching those worn by Metamorphosis Erin. Her outfit is very nice and matches those of the latest Meteor collection - or even Magia 2000’s Karolin. We have seen the necklace before. The snake and apple charm bracelet alludes to Eve and the garden of Eden aka the temptation to sin. Snakeskin bag of course - imagine Eve skinning the serpent to make a bag? Would have saved us a lot of trouble.

An Angel has landed: the first W Club Doll for 2020 is unveiled!

Poppy Parker is again the first W Club Doll , just like last year. Unlike last year, we waited till August for the unveil - it was June in 2019. I understand that with the pandemic there are bound to be delays and problems, but dolls keep piling up with no room to breathe between releases and arrivals and invoices. Imagine what would be happening without the pandemic!

poppy_parker_angel_day_look_IMG_6936.png

This Poppy Parker is special, as she’s the first one officially moving to the 70s after her modelling career ended. And she became a TV star in a big hit tv series. Her style and “Undercover Angel” moniker leave no room for doubt of course: she’s channeling Farrah Fawcett from Charlie’s Angels! She’s a mini gift set, with two outfits and will arrive this winter.

What a gorgeous doll. I grew up with Charlie’s Angels on TV and loved all actresses starring in it. Farrah was the epitome of a 70s beauty, with her blonde feathered hair and tan, athletic body. Mostly known for her looks and not her fashion style, she nevertheless influenced lots of women back then. And lots of boys, judging from her record-breaking bathing-suit poster sales.

poppy_psrker_angel_day_look_flowers_closeup_IMG_6939.png
poppy_parker_angel_night_look_disco_IMG_6942.png

The two looks are gorgeous. The first one is definitely mimicking one that she wore, as shown in the photo below. The second one, although typical of the era, is not corresponding to any of her outfits I could find. The one that comes near enough is the sequinned jumpsuit from a promo photo for the series, seen also below.

I remember seeing the convention 2017 Style Lab blonde Poppy and wanting to have her mostly for the hairstyle that reminded me of Farrah, now here it is again on a proper Angel Poppy. Bravo David! After the accessories photo, I put a slideshow with more Farrah Fawcett photos, some are the inspiration behind the poses of Poppy. Enjoy!

Integrity Toys 2019 Convention: Live From Fashion Week - Day 1

The 2019 Integrity Toys Live From Fashion Week convention opened officially this week in Baltimore and once again, this blog will be bringing you all the new dolls and outfits, as products become available at the convention throughout the weekend. This year's theme is all about fashion, and with the exception of the Poppy Parker Style Lab (which celebrates the 10th anniversary of Poppy Parker), every exclusive doll offered at the event, whether in the convention collection, salesroom, centerpieces or giveaways, is inspired by either Spring, Resort, Summer, Fall or Winter fashion weeks as follows:

Poppy Parker is Fashion Week Spring/Summer 1967

Fashion Royalty is Fashion Spring/Summer 2020

Monarchs is Fashion Week Resort 2020

East 59th is Fashion Week Fall/Winter 1956

The Industry is Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020

NU. Face is Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2020

Dolls from the Fashion Royalty® Collection and the NU. Face™ Collection were designed by Jessy Ayala, the East 59th® Collection by Chris Stoeckel, The Monarchs Homme by Vaughn Sawyers and the Poppy Parker™ Collection by David Buttry.

The convention registration started on Wednesday for the attendees who arrived early and they all received "Fresh Perspective" Baroness Agnes Von Weiss in their welcome bag. The bag had Powder Puff Poppy Parker printed on it, celebrating Poppy’s 10th anniversary.

Note: All dolls pictured in these photos are prototypes; final colors and textures may vary slightly.

I’m not crazy about this version of the Baroness. She’s beautiful but I find her make up too pronounced and candy coloured to like (it looks more prominent in real life photos). Her outfit and accessories remind me of Going Public Eugenia. And, as you will see below, most of the dolls in this convention so far, remind me of older releases. I don’t know if it is due to the production problems that troubled Integrity Toys this year or simple lack of inspiration, but I’m a bit underwhelmed by what I’m seeing in the first convention day, with a couple of notable exceptions.

Cute but it’s like Vivacité with another skintone. The total would look completely washed out, save for the raven hair and brightly coloured shoes. The blouse looks beautiful but the skirt does not do it justice. Where is Ferré when you need him!

She look a lot like her sister from the Faces of Adéle giftset. From the waist up she gives me Adut Akech vibes in Valentino. The pants are not to my liking, they needed a more fluid fabric to work properly. Love the bag and hat, her accessories in general are superb.

She’s fantastic! People have been clamouring for ages for a light coloured version of the Afroamerican Integrity Toys sculpts and the result is breathtaking. Her outfit is gorgeous too, reminding me of the OOAK Bow Down Nadja from the 2017 convention.

I’m not against romantically styled dolls, but they have to be styled in a certain way. This is not it. Very renaissance looking, a little modern Juliet, looking for her Romeo. The extra flat feet and sandals only accentuate the effect.

What a beautiful face! The only thing bothering me are the orangey brows. Her hairstyle and earrings are straight from the fashion magazines of the sixties. Her kimono though is not up to par. The huge obi distorts her silhouette in an ungainly way.

The last doll of the convention collection is a new Aurelia. Blue seems to be a favourite colour for her. She looks regal and I love her jewellery. Not enough to want her for my collection though. The hairstyle is a bit off for her era though, it was popular in the next decade. Not many accessories but killer gloves.

The convention salesroom had a few more dolls available for collectors, with a new sculpt and character of - gasp! - older age debuting in the Industry line.

One of the oldest and most loved characters makes his appearance again! Darius has a new sculpt, not a gorgeous as the previous one though. He look more like Tyson Beckford now. The hot pink suit is lovely. He has nice accessories too, plus a hat and an earring. And yes, the ugly sneaker trend has hit the Monarchs too. Must add that titling your male doll The Art Of Manliness in 2019 and the era of #MeToo and LGTB+ rights is a bit weird.

Integrity Toys Summer 2017 reveal: the event doll - Agnes Von Weiss Merveilleuse

As is the norm in the W Club unveils, Integroty Toys offered each member the chance to preorder a special event doll. It is another version of Agnes, who seems to be constantly being offered in version after version from the company lately - we had one as an upgrade doll earlier this year. With Veronique and Natalia missing, I do not see the reason why they or a different character all together could not have been offered to us instead of Agnes again. With that said, I must say this doll is gorgeous. She is a Carolina Herrera deadringer, from the short hair (a first for Agnes), to the puffy white blouse and the long lace skirt, everything screams Carolina Herrera here. And I like it. So maybe we can forgive an Agnes deluge this time. Maybe. I do not get the price hike in this one - another $10 up and it is not even a gift set. Is it the extra skirt fabric?

Agnes Von Weiss merveilleuse doll close up 1

Agnes Von Weiss is a 12.5" fully articulated fashion doll with fully rooted hair, combed into a short, sophisticated style. In this look, she channels a world famous American designer (one of her idols) in a high-contrast, ultra-dramatic ensemble composed of a sateen blouse with romantic puff sleeves and a v-neck mandarin collar, coupled with a high-waisted, very sheer, black guipure lace mermaid skirt lined with delicate dotted tulle. Agnes has some accessories to complete her look: a leopard clutch purse with a long tassel, closed-toe heels and custom jewelry set. For adult collectors ages 15 and up only. This doll cannot stand alone; a doll stand is included.
