A Monogram gift set is coming to revive the line for Integrity Toys

It was expected since last year that Integrity Toys was reviving one of their discontinued lines. So it was not a big surprise when the company announced to W Club members that designer Chris Stoeckel was revisiting FR: Monogram: the line was up his alley, with its couture style and retro inspiration. The surprise was that the first release is an extravagant gift set available to all W Club members through pre-order. Even better? The price! How can IT release a doll with three outfits in a gorgeous box retailing at $199.00 but their simpler one outfit upgrades cost $175.00?

I personally am very happy that the Monogram line gets a fresh start - I like their style and elegance and already have at least five in my collection.Chris is a good choice to design this and it shows in this gift set. We get three outfits with the doll, all in one gorgeous box that has the original line’s colouring and design. So Chris got the two outfits out of Dior by John Galliano’s Spring 2007 Haute Couture collection: The pink suit almost looking like the original, but simplified (that zig-zag collar cannot be made commercially for dolls) and the coat collar from one outfit (third in the line up below) added to another coat and dress outfit from the same collection (middle in the row below), again simplified for production.

Let’s not forget it is not the first time we get an outfit from this collection on an IT doll: Agnes was the first, way back in 2008 for the Dolls In Oz convention: (Agnes photo by me)

I love the outfits, the accessories, the doll with her couture extreme make up and gorgeous red hair. The handling of the tariff is weird - they should have just added a fixed amount in case that tariffs are still on when the doll arrives and scrap it if they are not. This would be more convenient for everyone involved and is already being done by other doll companies. Also, for us non -US citizens, it is flabbergasting that we have to pay a tariff that is imposed to USA imports. Make a distribution centre in EU or in China and ship to non USA people directly from there. Regarding the doll body brouhaha I saw on social media, let me just remind everyone that the original Monogram body is the Poppy Parker body with FR legs. So the only change is the FR legs being replace by Poppy high heeled ones. And Chris said, during the presentation, that the clothes (maybe not the lingerie) fit NU Face, albeit a bit snug.

ITBE Wave 2: a W Club exclusive by Integrity Toys

After the success of the three ITBE dolls released early this year (but presented to W Club members in late 2013), the experiment of releasing older sculpts in different bodies and skintones goes on. Integrity Toys informed the W Club members that four new dolls are to be available exclusively to them through a lottery for the right to buy. These will not be available to non club members in contrast to the previous release. Each doll is a 300 pieces edition. Let's see them all:

"Second Skin" comes dressed in a faux snake skin sheath belted dress, red shoes and a doll stand. Fully articulated doll with rooted hair and hand applied eyelashes. This AA Kyori comes dressed in a jacquard belted cocktail dress, with matching shoes and a doll stand. Fully articulated doll with rooted hair and hand applied eyelashes. For adult collectors ages 14 and up.She lis the original Kyori sculpt so I am falling for this one hard. Plus she's never had this skin-tone before (only Latina releases untl now). The dress is of course the Isha one in a different fabric. I like the fact that the shoes all these dolls wear are not the same as the previous release. And they look great too.

Item # 15026
Red Strike

Suggested Retail Price: $75.00 USD

Quick Switch Feature: No
Skin Tone: Miami
Hair Color: Shimmering Blond

Package Dimensions: 13.5" X 4" X 2.25"

Janay is the very first Integrity sculpt, long before Fashion Royalty dolls were even a concept. So there is some sentimental value added to this particular release. She is dressed in a sassy red and black version of the pleated cocktail dress that Natalia was wearing the previous time in B&W. It includes belt, shoes and a doll stand. Fully articulated doll with rooted hair and hand applied eyelashes. For adult collectors ages 14 and up. If one of the two previous dolls were not part of this wave, I might have tried my luck with this one even though I already have the dress too. The shoes look like they might be like wave 1 Adele's in red.

IT Direct Exclusive
Limited Edition of 300 Dolls
Suggested Retail Price: $75.00 USD
Estimated Ship Date: in-stock March 2014

Fully articulated doll with rooted hair and hand applied eyelashes. For adult collectors ages 14 and up.A pure Monogram doll, I am passing on this one too as I already have a platinum haired Monogram. Looks great though.

Think Pink - Sunny Harnet ready for the red carpet

One of the most memorable musical numbers in the Funny Face film is "Think Pink". If you remember, a year ago, Integrity Toys release a series of seven dolls inspired from the film and its costumes, as part of their Paramount license. So it was only natural that one outfit at least from the Think Pink sequence would be selected. Well, actually there are two, a pink suit and an evening gown. Here, as a tribute to the Oscar cermony that takes place tonight, we focus on the latter, in a recen photo shoot I did.

The doll is evoking the model Sunny Harnett who appears in the film along more famous models Suzy Parker and Dovima (who has a speaking role). Sunny appears with many outfits in the sequence but most notably the outfit shown here. This look is composed of a pink satin two-piece gown with a transformable pink faux fur peplum that turns into a cape, as shown in the film. Pink opera length gloves (the usual oven mitt variety), bright pink satin shoes and a jewellery set (clear bauble necklace and rhinestone stud earrings) complete the outfit.

The 12" fully articulated vinyl doll has rooted hair and hand-applied eyelashes and sports the FR: Monogram body (with Victoire Roux legs) and the Imogen head sculpt. She does reming me of Sunny Harnett a lot and the gown is a faithful representation of the one shown in the film. She looks ready to pick up an Oscar! The last close-up of her shows her necklace backwards, it was a mistake but I liked the photo so here it goes.

New ITBE Basic Edition dolls from Integriy: Fashion Royalty disguised!

The second email about the last dolls to be released for 2013 by Integrity Toys was about a new ITBE (Integrity Toys Basic Edition) doll collection. Imagine how surprised everyone was upon seeing that now two of these dolls will feature the FR tall articulated body (the third has the Monogram one) and characters from the Fashion Royalty family: this time it is Adele's 2nd sculpt, Isha (looking more like the former Luchia doll because of the skintone) and Natalia (the tweaked original sculpt, or Natalia 1.5 as IT calls it). All three dolls unveiled in this email are IT Direct Exclusive products which will be offered via a "right to buy" lottery approximately in January 2014. The lottery information for these dolls will be sent after the new year to both 2014 W Club members and members of the general public. The dolls were first unveiled during the IT convention this fall.

Item # 15022
Gold Glam
The ITBE COLLECTION
Limited Edition of 300 Dolls

Doll Tech Specs:
Body Type: FR "Tall" Body (older generation articulated FR body with larger bust size)
Head Sculpt: Adele 2.0
Quick Switch Feature: No
Skin Tone: Latino
Hair Color: Strawberry Blond
Eyelashes: Yes
Package Dimensions: 13.5" X 4" X 2.25"

This basic doll comes dressed in a simple sheath dress cinched at the waist by a wide faux-leather corset belt. Includes shoes and a doll stand. Fully articulated doll with rooted hair and hand applied eyelashes. For adult collectors ages 14 and up. This Adele is amazing and I am trying to get her, as I do not have one with this hair colour. I also love the screening and dress fabric as well as the belt.

Item # 15024
Shimmering Copper
The ITBE COLLECTION
Limited Edition of 300 Dolls
Suggested Retail Price: $75.00 USD
Estimated Ship Date: First Week of January 2014

Doll Tech Specs:
Body Type: FR "Tall" Body (older generation articulated FR body with larger bust size)
Head Sculpt: Isha
Quick Switch Feature: No
Skin Tone: Porcelain
Hair Color: Bright Red
Eyelashes: Yes
Package Dimensions: 13.5" X 4" X 2.25"

This lady comes dressed in a cocktail sheath dress cinched at the waist by a delicate belt accented with a "bow" detail and includes shoes and a doll stand. Fully articulated doll with rooted hair and hand applied eyelashes. For adult collectors ages 14 and up. Amazing Isha/Luchia version, a must have again. The dress has the same cut as the one that Ready To Dare Natalia had (a W Club upgrade doll). The colouring reminds me of Style Mantra Eden but also of amazing Christina Hendricks as Joan Holloway in Mad Men.

Item # 15028
Light Strike
The ITBE COLLECTION
Limited Edition of 300 Dolls
Suggested Retail Price: $75.00 USD
Estimated Ship Date: First Week of January 2014

Doll Tech Specs:
Body Type: Monogram
Head Sculpt: Natalia Fatale 1.5 (was last seen on IFDC "Wicked")
Quick Switch Feature: No
Skin Tone: FR Black
Hair Color: Brunette
Eyelashes: Yes
Package Dimensions: 13.5" X 4" X 2.25"

This is the doll with the Monogram body (and a fashion taken off Jason Wu's S/S 2014 collection). She comes dressed in a high contrast pleated dress delicately cinched at the waist by a tiny "pleather" belt and includes shoes and a doll stand. Fully articulated doll with rooted hair and hand applied eyelashes. For adult collectors ages 14 and up. I love this version of Natalia too. It will definitely be hard to get any one of these dolls as the edition size is really small (300 dolls each) and there will be a lottery process available to all. I predict high secondary market prices afterwards. Sigh.

**Please note that the photos are of prototype dolls and subject to changes and modifications. Dolls will be sold separately. "Right to buy" lottery information will be sent approximately in January 2014. The Premiere: Integrity Toys 2013 Convention - Day III

Third and final day of the convention is Saturday. The W Club luncheon which is always on that day was dedicated to Victoire Roux. There was a centerpiece doll on each table and a fashion as a gift to each member. A new Victoire called Evening in Montreal is being released this winter. Chris Stoeckel was there to inform members of Victoire future releases and answer questions.

Item # 76010
Story Of My Life
Victoire Roux™
Dressed Doll
2013 Convention Exclusive

A lovely Victoire with a dress that has a style very popular in the 50's but also it has appeared in the convention this year in various incarnations. Great colouring too.

Item # 76011
Night at Ciro's
Victoire Roux™
Fashion 2013 Convention Exclusive

I like the fashion a lot (although the accessories are basic) but would have preferred it with a long skirt. I will say this again, no bags for any of the dolls in this convention, which is a bit weird.

The final event is always the most anticipated of the conventions, as it includes the reveal of the convention doll. Everybody must have been thrilled to find out that the centerpiece doll of the evening was Vanessa, wearing a Jason Wu creation!

Item # 91333
Black Orchid
Vanessa Perrin™
Dressed Doll
2013 Convention Exclusive Centerpiece

An amazing version of Vanessa (she's definitely the 3.0 sculpt, although many people see the 1.0). The fashion looks gorgeous, although I do not know how the "leather" feels to touch. The jewellery is lovely as is the pair of strappy sandals.

Each attendant received an accessory pack (including a long skirt) for the blonde Monogram doll they had received as a gift upon registration.

2013 Convention Exclusive Giveaway

The winners of this year's competition were announced (and raffle winners got their loot too!). The winner of the advanced level competition, Lisa Ramsammy, was presented with a golden trophy and will have her fashion produced in next year's collection. Congratulations to Lisa - here is a photo of the fashion:

And finally, here is the convention doll that was given to all attendees: a gorgeous Elise wearing a Jason Wu fashion! The famous designer said this one is a favourite fashion of his. The recreation in doll size looks incredible, and from what I have seen of the original fashion, it is very faithful to it.

Item # 91334
Midnight Star
Elise Jolie
Dressed Doll
2013 Official Convention Doll

Such a fascinating doll! I am probably one of a handful of people that still do not own this sculpt, and if it keeps getting released in events and lotteries, I never will (sigh). I must say that this year's convention dolls were infinitely better than last year's collection and will definitely be very coveted.
